The latest beta update for Call to Arms: Panzer Elite introduces several major gameplay systems and realism improvements focused on persistence, AI behavior, and vehicle damage simulation.

Main additions and changes:

• Field HQ system added to campaign missions

Earn points during battles and redeploy destroyed tanks or call in reinforcements.

• New persistent medal system

Mission performance now awards medals and ranks that remain in your hangar

• New campaign mission: St. Barthélemy

Night combat during Operation Lüttich
Reduced Allied air support due to poor visibility
Focus on close-range engagements and ambushes

• AI foliage visibility overhaul (WIP)

Bushes and dense vegetation now properly block AI line of sight
AI should no longer “see through” concealment unrealistically
Improved target selection and engagement behavior

Beginning of major damage model overhaul:
• HE filler and spalling mechanics reworked
• Internal component damage revised
• New engine-kill VFX and animations
• Mantlet hits now degrade aiming and gun handling instead of simply disabling weapons
• Internal component durability adjusted
• Multiple armor/component setup fixes

Environmental improvements:
• Water surface support added

Rivers and lakes now feature splash and ripple VFX when vehicles move or fire into water

Overall direction:
The update continues pushing the game toward a more simulation-focused combined arms experience with:

persistent campaign systems
tactical reinforcement mechanics
improved AI behavior
more advanced armor and internal damage simulation
